![]() ![]() Why you'd go out of your way to list a huge chain of technical events that only a handful of us understand is beyond me as the only thing it serves to do is confuse the OP when you know what was meant by the question. You can debate and dispute the term all you want, regardless of whether it's a format done to the old definition or a quick 0 write, whether it's done manually or an automated process by the installer that's what happening and the drive can't be used until it's done. In the REAL world, we call it formatting. ![]()
